Doune (Gaelic: An Dùn, 'the fort') is a burgh in the district of Stirling, situated by the River Teith. However, Doune's postal address places the town in Perthshire, although geographically it lies within the District of Stirling, and administratively Doune is under the control of Stirling Council.
The town lies on the A84 Stirling to Callander road, although, is only 2 miles from both the A9 North and M9 to Glasgow.
