Invergordon (population 3,949) is located on the northern shore of the Cromarty Firth and enjoys the dry climate of Eastern Scotland. The road bridges at Dingwall and Kessock permit ease of travel to Inverness, whilst Invergordon Train Station is a part of the Far North Line.
As well as having a good transport system, Invergordon also provides primary and secondary education. Other public services include a library, swimming pool, post office and Naval Museum. Invergordon also boasts many private services, including a diverse array of restaurants, a golf course and a number of local businesses. The surrounding area is a popular destination for wildlife enthusiasts, due to the large numbers of birds and the bottle nosed dolphins that swim in the Cromarty Firth. Local countryside offers many opportunities for hill-walking and mountain-biking.
