Lasswade is a village that sits on the River North Esk in Midlothian. It's nine miles South of Edinburgh city centre, between Dalkeith and Loanhead. Melville Castle lies to the north east.
Lasswade lies within the Edinburgh Green Belt. Most of the population are either retired, or commute into Edinburgh to work. There are, however, several local businesses, including horse riding stables, a golf driving range and golf course, an alpine plant nursery and the 'Laird and Dog' pub.
The village is just over a mile from the A720 Edinburgh City bypass.
