Loanhead is a small town in Midlothian, to the south of Edinburgh, and close to Roslin, Bonnyrigg and Dalkeith.

The town has three primary schools and several community groups run a variety of clubs including five a side football and Girl Guides. Loanhead has a small but well used and appointed leisure centre, a small library and a health centre as well a range of local businesses. The town also boasts a large, modern industrial estate with around 100 different businesses.

Loanhead is under a mile from the A720 city by-pass, although, there is also a park and ride facility, providing a high quality bus service directly into Edinburgh City Centre.
