Property in Pitlochry

With a population of over 2,500, Pitlochry is a town in Perth and Kinross. It lies on the River Tummel 40 miles north of Perth, along the A9 to Inverness.

Pitlochry is largely a Victorian town, and it has retained many stone buildings from this era. Its success as a tourist resort was due to Queen Victoria visiting the area in 1842, and the arrival of the railway in 1863. Surrounded by mountains such as Ben Vrackie, Pitlochry remains a popular tourist resort and is particularly known as a centre for hillwalking.
