With a population of roughly four thousand, Invergordon is located on the northern shore of the Cromarty Firth and consequently enjoys the dry climate of eastern Scotland. Road bridges at Dingwall and Kessock permit ease of travel to Inverness, while Invergordon train station is part of the Far North Line.
As well as having a good transport system, Invergordon provides primary and secondary education. Other public services include a library, swimming pool, post office and Naval Museum. A diverse array of restaurants join a golf course and a number of local businesses in an area popular with wildlife enthusiasts.
