For much of the past millennium, Cupar was the county town of Fife. Today, this bustling town is centred around the Crossgate and Bonnygate shopping streets, which converge on the unicorn-capped Mercat Cross. Cupar's amenities include good shops, excellent sports facilities and two primary schools; while secondary education is provided by Bell Baxter High School.
One of Cupar's main features is the railway station on the Aberdeen to London line, facilitating easy commuting to Edinburgh, Dundee and further afield. A bus service connects the town with Edinburgh and Dundee, while Edinburgh Airport and Rosyth ferry port are 42 miles and 35 miles away respectively.
