The village of Auchencairn lies on the Dumfries and Galloway coast, seven miles south of Castle Douglas and about eight miles east of Kirkcudbright. This traditional Scottish village consists mainly of stone houses dating from the early 17th century.



Auchencairn stands on the Solway Estuary coastline, surrounded by cliffs, islands and beaches known by locals as the Scottish Riviera. The A75 is accessible at nearby Castle Douglas where it runs between Dumfries and Stranraer, offering convenient connections with the M74/M6 and Carlisle.
