The Carse of Gowrie consists of a stretch of low-lying countryside in the southern part of Gowrie, Perth and Kinross. It stretches for about twenty miles along the Firth of Tay's northern shore between Perth and Dundee. The primary villages are Errol. Glencarse, Inchture, Leetown and Longforgan.
This area offers quality agricultural land, and fruit is easy to cultivate because of its southerly aspects. High general rainfall also helps, while the River Tay is used as a source of irrigation water.
