Drumnadrochit is located on the northern shore of Loch Ness, just twenty minutes away from Inverness. The A82 passes through it, linking Inverness to the northeast and Fort William to the southwest.
Drumnadrochit is a popular tourist attraction, especially with the famous Castle Urquhart just a mile outside the town. There are three hotels in or close to the village, plus two smaller inns and a hostel. Attractions include a themed exhibition about the Loch Ness Monster and nearby Urquhart Castle - one of the most commonly-visited sites managed by Historic Scotland.
