Elderslie is a village in the council region and historic county of Renfrewshire, situated midway between the towns of Paisley and Johnstone. These days, it's mostly viewed as a dormitory village for nearby urban settlements thanks to its strong transport links.
Elderslie is believed to be the birthplace of Sir William Wallace, whose name has been adopted by the non-denominational Wallace Primary School. This is a feeder school for Castlehead High, a secondary school in Paisley. Elderslie lies next to the A737 that links Irvine on the west coast to the newly-upgraded M8.
