Falkirk sits in the heart of Scotland, within its self-titled council region. Falkirk has a busy town centre and offers a wide range of cultural facilities from the Callendar House museum to Falkirk Town Hall - a major venue for performing arts and entertainment. The Falkirk wheel is recognised as an engineering wonder equal to anything the Victorians achieved, while the 860-acre Helix Park hosts the world-famous Kelpies.
Falkirk lies near the main M9 motorway between Edinburgh and Stirling, and is also served by the country's busiest railway line from Edinburgh to Glasgow. Falkirk has several primary schools and three high schools, and is home to one of the four campuses of Forth Valley College.
