Forfar is a town of approximately 13,500 people, located in Angus and acting as the district capital and administrative centre. The town is within commuting distance of Arbroath and Montrose, as well as Dundee (20 miles) and Aberdeen (40 miles) via the A90.
Forfar has recently seen a major change in its education structure, due to the Forfar-Carnoustie Schools Project. There are currently three primary schools: Whitehills Primary, Strathmore Primary and Langlands Primary. There is one secondary school in the town: Forfar Academy has a roll of around 1,200 pupils.
