Formerly known as Milton of Strathbogie, Huntly is a market town beside the A96 from Aberdeen to Inverness. A bypass funnels traffic round the southern edge of the town, which is sandwiched between two rivers - The Bogie and The Deveron. The local train station also connects with Aberdeen and Inverness.
Huntly Castle attracts many visitors, with a caravan park situated in fifteen acres of landscaped grounds including a swimming pool and fitness suite. There is a Nordic Ski Centre near the castle - the UK's only year-round centre for the sport. The famous Dean's Shortbread factory is also situated in Huntly.
