The village of Kingsbarns lies near the eastern coast of Fife, in an area known as the East Neuk. Its name derives from this being the location of barns used to store grain before being transported to Falkland Palace.
Kingsbarns is also well known for the golf links named after this village. The main A917 runs past Kingsbarns extending north to St Andrews six miles away, while Crail is roughly half this distance in the opposite direction. The A917 also accesses Anstruther, Pittenweem, St Monans and Elie before merging with the A915 at Upper Largo.
