The district of Springburn is situated on the north side of Glasgow about two miles from the city centre. The area has good transport links to the city centre and East Dunbartonshire along the A803, while Springburn train station is one stop from the city centre beside Springburn's shopping centre and a Glasgow Club gym.

The highest point in Springburn (and the whole of Glasgow) is the famous park at Balgrayhill, 364 feet above sea level. Opened in 1892, Springburn Park was joined a decade later by neighbouring Stobhill Hospital, while Mosesfield House in the park was the site where Britain's first motor car was built in 1895.
